Weather Situation

A high pressure ridge will then spread over the state during today and Friday, bringing generally settled conditions, before the next cold front crosses the state Sunday and Monday.

Mostly dry and clear. South to southeasterly winds, fresh at times along the coast.

Friday 24 October

Chance of showers along the coast. Dry and mostly sunny elsewhere. Patchy morning frost along the southwest slopes. Chance of local morning fogs along the coast and ranges. Daytime temperatures above average in the northeast, below average in the southwest. East to southeasterly winds in the east, south to southwesterly in the west.

Fire Danger - High in the Far North Coast, Greater Hunter, Greater Sydney, New England, Northern Slopes, North Western and Upper Central West Plains areas.

Saturday 25 October

A few late showers in the far west and far south and the slight chance of a shower along the coast and ranges further north. Slight chance of a late thunderstorm in the far southwest. Dry and partly cloudy elsewhere. Daytime temperatures above average. North to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending west to northwesterly inland.

Sunday 26 October

Scattered showers for the southern and central ranges, slopes and plains as well as adjacent parts of the coast. Thunderstorms possible for much of the state. Daytime temperatures above average, tending well above average in the north. Winds northerly, tending westerly later in the day and strong at times in the west and on the ranges.

Monday 27 October

A shower or two along the coast and ranges, mainly in the south, and possibly falling as snow about the Alpine peaks. Slight chance of a shower elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm in the north. Daytime temperatures above average in the northeast and below average in the west and south. Moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds ahead of a gusty south to southwesterly change extending throughout.
