Weather Situation

A west to southwesterly airstream will persist into Friday and Saturday, as a ridge of high pressure sits over the southern mainland. A broad low pressure system moves over the southern mainland during Sunday, with an associated trough to sit over Bass Strait. A cold front moving in from the south clips southern Tasmania on Sunday, followed by a southerly airstream into Monday, as a high pressure centre lies to the west of Tasmania.

Isolated showers about the west, south and Bass Strait Islands. Fine elsewhere. Westerly winds.

Friday 24 October

Showers about the west, south and Bass Strait Islands during the morning, contracting to the west during the afternoon. Westerly winds.

Saturday 25 October

Showers about the west and south, otherwise fine. Westerly winds.

Sunday 26 October

Showers about the south and east, extending to the north during the evening. Rain developing about the Bass Strait Islands. Snow falling to around 500 metres during the evening in the south. Possible small hail in the south. Southerly winds.

Monday 27 October

Morning showers about the south and east, falling as snow to 400 metres in the south. Possible small hail in the south. Fine elsewhere. Southerly winds.
